This is a traction elevator, and this model is generally accepted as the quietest and smoothest elevator of it’s type in the residential market.

· Does not require a separate area for machinery.  All machinery and electronics are in the shaftway at the top of the rails

· Automatic emergency lowering in case of power failure

· Telephone built into car control panel

· Unfinished or lacquer finish fell 3/4” real wood cab—no cheap constructions that requires upgrade

· Only requires 102” shaftway height in upper floor for standard height cab

The traction elevator utilizes a counterweight system.  As the elevator ascends, the counterweight descends.  A motor and gearbox at the top of the shaftway drives this process.
